September 04, 2016, 25 young leaders who have previously represented AGR in international events gathered to set up strategies of scaling up the experience to as many girls as possible.

The morning kicked off with lots of warm and fun energizers and reflexions, mostly to awaken the Guiding spirit and prepare the long term journey for a better future of the movement.

Furthermore, the attendees shared the lessons they got from attended events and recalled beautiful memories abroad.

Claudine who volunteered at Our Chalet, Switzerland reiterated that today she has learnt how to turn challenges into opportunities to grow. She said, “The three months I spent at Our Chalet made me discover my abilities, and challenged me to work even harder to gain skills in management, communication and planning.”

Pascaline Umulisa, the National Commissioner in charge of Communication gave the participants a broader view of the Guiding activities in Rwanda and what AGR expects from young leaders who were privileged to represent the country at the regional and international level.

“If we put our strength together as youth, we can take AGR to the next heights. Our amazing experiences could inspire more than hundreds of girls, let’s not take this privilege as granted, let’s take action!”

YESS Girls Movement participants, as the event organiser, shared their six month journey of a lifetime and encouraged other girls to apply for the YESS Girls Movement 2017.

Alice, a YESS participant in Zimbabwe called to action, “Each international experience contributes to the growth of the movement. We should not wait for a miracle to happen at AGR, we are the miracle makers. If the organization sent you to acquire skills and knowledge, it would be really unfair to not give back. It’s a debt!

Lorraine and Diane, the Juliette Low Seminar 2016 led a session on Leadership to help the participants think about a vision of what they want AGR to be, and how they can contribute to achieve that vision.

The group pledged to work together because they have so much to offer to AGR and the best way of doing this is put all their knowledge, creativity and willingness together to achieve SMART objectives.

So, the group created what they called “Pioneer Task Force” as they want to coach and mentor youngsters for the next 12 months.
