We are recruiting next YESS Girls

Youth Exchange South to South (YESS) Girls Movement is a WAGGGS programme sponsored by FK Norway, a Norwegian government agency. Through this program WAGGGS is facilitating the girls and young women to develop their fullest potential as responsible citizens of the world.

For six months, the girls and young women leaders stay in a different country interacting with other participants and people and are able to appreciate cultural diversity across Africa and beyond. Hence strengthening their spirit of tolerance and respect for cultural differences between their own and other countries – a core attribute for any good leader.

In 2015, 11 young women participated in the exchange and in 2016, 35 young participated in the program. This year, Rwandan Girl Guides will be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Madagascar Guides Associations.

During six month stay in the host association, participants are provided with accommodation and a monthly subsistence allowance. On return from the host association, they are required to do follow up work for two months at Rwanda Girl Guides Association office and with other young leaders.

Participant criteria:

• Be an active girl guide between 18 – 24 years old

• Be available from 5 January to 30 September 2017

• Have a good command of English, proficiency in French is an added value

• Have leadership qualities and be able to work in a team

• Be committed to personal development and continuous learning

• Have a comprehensive knowledge of Rwanda and Rwanda Girl Guides Association

• Have a mature and responsible attitude

• Be willing to be a part of pool of young women who attended international events after the programme
